Throughout the book, you will see something like this phrase: "draw or write the information nature gave you.” In shamanism, we look for clues (sounds, images, animals) in nature to help us understand the messages Spirit is giving us. For example, if you see a snake shedding its skin, it might mean that something is about to change in your life. These are often called “medicine signs.”

We are all different and there is no one right way to communicate with nature. As you go through the
ceremonies, notice the many ways that nature interacts with you. Trust your gut instinct as to what the signs mean for you.

It is also important to leave natural systems undisturbed. Be sure to take any garbage away with you.
If you want to take something from nature, always ask nature for permission first. Only when you have permission may you remove the item for ceremony. Listen and trust your gut!

Remember to always give thanks when leaving your nature space.
